Baked Brie in Bread Bowl Recipe

  • Author: Jasmine
  • Total Time: 35 minutes

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 round loaf of bread (sourdough or French bread works best)
  • 1 wheel of Brie cheese (around 8 oz)
  • 1/4 cup of honey
  • 1/4 cup of chopped nuts (walnuts, pecans, or almonds)
  • 1 tablespoon of fresh rosemary (optional, for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil or melted butter (for brushing the bread)

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Step 2: Slice off the top of the round bread loaf, creating a “lid.” Hollow out the center, leaving about an inch of bread on the sides and bottom. Set the bread aside.

Step 3: Place the wheel of Brie cheese inside the hollowed-out bread.

Step 4: Drizzle honey over the Brie cheese and sprinkle with chopped nuts.

Step 5: Brush the outside of the bread bowl with olive oil or melted butter to enhance its flavor and crispiness.

Step 6: Wrap the entire bread bowl in aluminum foil to prevent the bread from burning during baking.

Step 7: Bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and gooey. If desired, remove the foil during the last 5 minutes to let the bread crisp up.

Step 8: Once the cheese is melted and the bread is golden brown, remove from the oven and garnish with fresh rosemary (optional). Serve with sliced baguette, crackers, or fresh fruit for dipping.
