Buffalo Chicken Cheesesteak

Ingredients

For the Buffalo Chicken:

  • 1.5 lbs boneless chicken breast or thighs (thinly sliced)

  • ½ cup Buffalo hot sauce (Frank’s RedHot recommended)

  • 2 tbsp melted butter (for richer sauce)

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • ½ tsp paprika

  • Salt & black pepper to taste

For the Cheesesteak Assembly:

  • 4 hoagie rolls or sub buns (toasted)

  • 1 large bell pepper (thinly sliced)

  • 1 large onion (thinly sliced)

  • 2 cups shredded cheese (provolone, cheddar, or pepper jack)

  • ¼ cup blue cheese crumbles (optional)

  • 2 tbsp olive oil (for sautéing)

  • Ranch or blue cheese dressing (for drizzling)


Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Chicken

  1. Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add sliced chicken, season with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt & pepper.
  3. Cook for 5-6 minutes until no longer pink.
  4. Pour in Buffalo sauce + melted butter, stir well, and simmer for 2 minutes. Remove from heat.

Step 2: Sauté Peppers & Onions

  1. In the same skillet, add 1 tbsp oil and cook peppers & onions for 4-5 mins until soft.
  2. Push veggies to one side, add chicken back in.
  3. Step 3: Melt the Cheese
  4. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the chicken & veggies.
  5. Cover with a lid for 1-2 mins until cheese melts.

Step 4: Toast the Buns

  1. Lightly butter hoagie rolls and toast in a pan or oven (2-3 mins).

Step 5: Assemble & Serve

  1. Load cheesy Buffalo chicken mix into rolls.
  2. Drizzle with ranch or blue cheese dressing.
  3. Add extra hot sauce if desired.
