Cinnamon Roll French Toast Roll Ups

Cinnamon Roll French Toast Roll Ups

  • Author: Jasmine
  • Total Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can of cinnamon rolls (with icing included)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons butter (for cooking)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)
  • Maple syrup (for serving, optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Cinnamon Rolls

Start by unrolling the cinnamon rolls from the can. Set the icing aside to drizzle on top later. Gently flatten each cinnamon roll with a rolling pin or your hands until they’re about 1/4 inch thick. This will help them cook evenly and absorb more of the French toast mixture.

Step 2: Whisk the French Toast Mixture

In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until well combined. This mixture will coat the cinnamon roll pieces, giving them that classic French toast flavor.

Step 3: Roll Up the Cinnamon Rolls

Once the cinnamon rolls are flattened, carefully roll them back up into their original shape. The flat shape makes them easier to roll tightly without spilling the cinnamon filling.

Step 4: Heat the Pan

Place a non-stick skillet over medium heat and melt a tablespoon of butter in the pan. Swirl the butter around to coat the bottom evenly.

Step 5: Dip and Cook the Roll Ups

Dip each cinnamon roll into the egg mixture, making sure it’s fully coated. Then place the coated roll-ups into the skillet. Cook each roll-up for 2-3 minutes per side, or until they’re golden brown and crispy. Add more butter to the pan as needed.

Step 6: Drizzle the Icing

Once the roll-ups are golden and cooked through, remove them from the pan and drizzle the reserved cinnamon roll icing over the top. For an extra touch, dust them with powdered sugar.
