Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Apples

  1. Wash and dry the apples thoroughly.
  2. Core the apples using a sharp knife or apple corer.
  3. Slice the apples into 1/4-inch thick rings.

Step 2: Make the Batter

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and vanilla extract.
  3. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, whisking until smooth.

Step 3: Heat the Oil

  1. Pour vegetable oil into a deep frying pan or skillet, filling it about 1 inch deep.
  2. Heat the oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

Step 4: Coat and Fry the Apple Rings

  1. Dip each apple ring into the batter, ensuring it’s fully coated.
