  • Author: Jasmine
  • Total Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 works best for flavor)

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped (optional)

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 cups elbow macaroni or small pasta shells

  • 2 cups beef broth (or water with beef bouillon)

  • 1 cup milk (whole or 2% for creaminess)

  • 8 oz Velveeta cheese, cubed

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

  • 1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)

  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter

Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Ground Beef

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add olive oil or butter.
  2. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it into small pieces with a wooden spoon.
  3. If using onions, add them to the skillet and cook until softened (about 3-4 minutes).
  4. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.

Step 2: Add the Pasta and Broth

  1. Pour the beef broth into the skillet and stir to combine.
  2. Add the uncooked pasta and mix well.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover the skillet.
  4. Let it simmer for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender.

Step 3: Incorporate the Milk and Seasonings

  1. Once the pasta is cooked, stir in the milk, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt.
  2. Mix well to combine all the flavors.

Step 4: Melt the Velveeta Cheese

  1. Add the cubed Velveeta cheese to the skillet.
  2. Stir continuously until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce becomes creamy and smooth.

Step 5: Serve and Enjoy

  1. Remove the skillet from heat and let it sit for 2-3 minutes to thicken.
  2. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley or grated Parmesan if desired.
