Ingredients
- 1 sheet of puff pastry (store-bought or homemade)
- 4 oz goat cheese (softened)
- 1/4 cup fresh figs, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp honey (for sweetness)
- 1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves (optional, for a herbal note)
- 1 egg (for egg wash, optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil or melted butter for brushing
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). If you’re using a baking sheet, line it with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat to prevent sticking.
Step 2: Prepare the Goat Cheese Mixture
In a mixing bowl, combine the softened goat cheese, chopped figs, honey, and fresh thyme (if using). Stir until well combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Step 3: Roll Out the Puff Pastry
Place the sheet of puff pastry on a clean, flat surface. Use a rolling pin to gently roll it out into a rectangle about 12×9 inches in size.
Step 4: Spread the Goat Cheese Mixture
Spread the fig and goat cheese mixture evenly over the surface of the puff pastry, leaving a small border around the edges.
Step 5: Roll and Slice
Carefully roll the pastry into a log shape, starting from one of the longer sides. Once rolled, slice the log into 1-inch-wide pinwheels.
