For the Sandwich:

  • 4 slices of bread (white, whole wheat, or sourdough)
  • 2 tablespoons butter (or olive oil for a lighter option)
  • ½ cup pizza sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 8 slices pepperoni (or other favorite toppings)
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder (optional for extra flavor)
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Optional Toppings:

  • Sliced mushrooms
  • Sliced bell peppers
  • Cooked sausage
  • Black olives
  • Fresh basil leaves

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Bread

Spread a thin layer of butter (or olive oil) on one side of each bread slice. Sprinkle a little garlic powder and Parmesan cheese over the buttered side for extra flavor.

Step 2: Assemble the Sandwich

Flip the slices so the buttered side is facing down. Spread a generous layer of pizza sauce on two of the bread slices. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella evenly over the sauce. Add pepperoni slices (or your preferred toppings) and a dash of Italian seasoning for that authentic pizza taste.

Step 3: Top and Close

Place the remaining two slices of bread on top, buttered side facing outward. Gently press down to secure the sandwich.

Step 4: Grill the Sandwich

Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat. Place the sandwich on the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until the bread turns golden brown and crispy, and the cheese is melted inside.

Step 5: Serve and Enjoy

Remove the sandwich from the skillet, let it cool for a minute, then slice diagonally for the perfect cheesy bite. Serve warm with extra pizza sauce for dipping.
