Instructions
Ensure your whole milk and unsalted butter are at room temperature. This helps them blend smoothly.
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the unsalted butter until it’s fully liquid but not hot. Let it cool slightly.
Pour the whole milk into a mixing bowl. Slowly add the melted butter while whisking continuously to emulsify the mixture.
Use a hand mixer or stand mixer to blend the milk and butter until the mixture thickens and resembles the consistency of heavy whipping cream. This should take about 3-5 minutes.
Transfer the homemade heavy whipping cream to an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before using. This helps it set and thicken further.
