  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 lemon (juice and zest)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme (or ½ teaspoon dried thyme)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley (optional for garnish)

Instructions

Step 1:
Start by preparing your ingredients. Mince the garlic, zest the lemon, and slice the lemon into wedges.

Step 2:
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season the salmon fillets generously with salt, pepper, and fresh thyme.

Step 3:
Once the oil is hot, add the salmon fillets to the skillet, skin-side down if applicable. Cook the salmon for 4-5 minutes on one side until golden brown and slightly crispy.

Step 4:
Flip the salmon fillets carefully and reduce the heat to medium. Add the butter to the pan and allow it to melt. As the butter melts, add the minced garlic, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Spoon the garlic butter sauce over the salmon while it continues to cook for another 3-4 minutes.

Step 5:
Once the salmon is cooked through (internal temperature should reach 145°F), remove from the skillet. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley and lemon wedges.
