Ingredients
-
1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend for juiciness)
-
1/2 cup Italian breadcrumbs
-
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
-
1/2 cup pizza sauce (store-bought or homemade)
-
1 teaspoon garlic powder
-
1 teaspoon onion powder
-
1 teaspoon dried oregano
-
1/2 teaspoon salt
-
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
-
4 hamburger buns
-
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
-
1/4 cup sliced pepperoni (optional)
-
1/4 cup chopped green bell peppers (optional)
-
1/4 cup sliced black olives (optional)
Instructions
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, Italian breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties. Make sure the patties are slightly larger than the buns, as they will shrink during cooking.
Heat a skillet or frying pan over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
Once the patties are cooked, spread a tablespoon of pizza sauce on each patty. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, green bell peppers, and black olives (if using).
Place the patties on a baking sheet and broil in the oven for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Toast the hamburger buns lightly. Place each patty on a bun and serve immediately.
