  • 1/2 cup sweet chilli sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon ginger (grated, optional)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh cilantro or green onions for garnish (optional)
  • Lime wedges (for serving)

Optional Side Pairings:

  • Steamed jasmine rice or brown rice
  • Stir-fried vegetables (e.g., bell peppers, broccoli, snap peas)

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking tray with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup.

Step 2: Prepare the Marinade

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the sweet chilli sauce, soy sauce, lime juice, garlic, ginger (if using), and olive oil. Mix until well combined.

Step 3: Season and Marinate the Salmon

Place the salmon fillets on the prepared baking tray. Pat them dry with paper towels. Season lightly with salt and pepper. Using a basting brush, coat each fillet generously with the marinade, making sure the top and sides are fully covered. Let them sit for 10–15 minutes for deeper flavor absorption.

Step 4: Bake the Salmon

Transfer the tray to the preheated oven. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and the glaze is bubbling. You can also broil the salmon for an additional 1–2 minutes to caramelize the glaze slightly.

Step 5: Garnish and Serve

Remove from the oven and let it rest for 2 minutes. Garnish with chopped cilantro or green onions and serve with lime wedges and your choice of side dishes.
